Yes, ceder is safe in aquaria

>Is seasoned Cedar suitable for aquarium use?

Not only is ceder safe, it is beneficial. It contains
bacteriostatic and fungicidal agents, does not harm
fish, plants or snails, and will lightly color the
water browinsh - which seems to inhibit algae; this
coloration may be removed with carbon or water changes
if you don't like it.

You may or may not have real ceder; there are many trees
that are referred to by this name; they're all good,
although the root is certainly better than branches
by a large margin.

I've used it for 25+ years.
