The aquarium pharmaceuticals test kit is accurate whenever I use it. In Winnipeg everyone also complains of the 'hard' water but the total hardness is only around 80 ppm (as stated from the water utility) so I think its just a case of most people not knowing what constitutes 'hard water'. dave.
