Jay asked about using a 12V 5amp transformer from All Electronics for
a substrate heating system that he calculates needs a 12V 4.5amp
transformer. I've used this transformer for over a year in my
substrate heating tsystem in my 55g tank but I am under 4amps. I
think 4.5 amps you would be pushing the limits of this transformer.
You might try MPJA www.mpja.com. They have a 13.5V 20amp transformer
for $19.95. This should work fine in your system with power to spare.
