Yes, I have some blue ones and many young. They will eat your plants. They snip
them off at the base and munch them down. Mine also liked the shrimp pellets, and
about anything even remotely food like. I have my big ones outside in a kiddie
pool. My little ones live in several low water level tanks and bowls. I feed the
little ones on excess daphnia, which they munch up,  and flake food.
