MH lights for Barry Barlow
7000K is too actinic for plants. Usually we use 4500K - 5500K more for
cost reasons than for spectal.
Too much light creates too much heat and costs more for electricity and
airconditioning. You don't need to use more than about 250 watts on this
size tank. Two 175 watt pendants or mounted horizontally would do the
job nicely. Larger tanks need less watts per gallon than the little ones
as a rule of thumb. Maybe Erik will advance a new formula or table for
the algebraically challenged of us. ;-)
