It's best to replace one bulb at a time rather than all at once (less variance 
in light levels).  Good fluorescent bulbs are OK for a year or so, meaning you 
should replace one bulb every three months.  That works out to about $1.25 per 
week.  If you gave up one "Classic" movie rental per week (which are cheaper 
than "Hot New Releases" in my area), you would be home free!
