>Hello Everyone:

> I think I may have oopsed big time. Being an all to anxious novice I
though I would try adding fertilizer to my planted tank to encourage my
plants to grow QUICKLY. Being that it was 2AM I thought why not use some
PLANT PROD 20-20-20 fertilizer that makes house plants grow into a jungle
if given enough water afterwards. So I mixed 5mL powder in 1 Cup hot water
and slower mixed it in to my 35 Gal Aquarium. The next morning I woke up
and thought about what I had done. I had completely overlooked the concept
of living animals. I check the tank and my fish seemed OK. I did a 1/3
water change anyway. Well 2 weeks have passed my plants are going psycho
but some of my neon and glow lite tetras are swimming on a 45 deg. angle.
I think I have lost 1 that is just lying on it's side at the bottom of the
tank (still breathing). It looks like the gills are really swollen. Is
this the effect of my stupidity or should I send this post to a fish
related news group.
