What is this snail?

I hope I am not repeating a question asked but I have not seen this one
answered. I live on the Tennessee River and we have a cone shelled snail
that live in abundance here. They are commonly called periwinkles here.
They have a long cone shaped shell that is basically smooth. No spirals
like the M. Trumpet snails. I wonder if anyone knows anything about these?
What they eat and if they have any use in a planted aquarium?

I have caught 4 and put in my 60g. I have most of the fish out of it and
will be tearing it down and redoing it soon so I took a chance. They are
always moving around and searching for food. I have watched them on the
glass but I can't tell if they are eating algae or just hunting for food.

Any info would be welcome!
