Full sun plus sky is about 100 klux or about 2000 uE/m2/sec.  The 
photosynthesis of aquatic plants is saturated in the range of 20 to 50% 
full sunlight, or about 20 to 50 klux. Its difficult to say what effect 
cloulds would have on light levels except to say they would be reduced. 
The biggest difficulties in using natural light are: temperature 
increases in the tank and consistency of light from day to day and season 
to season.
