I use Magnum 350 canister filters for all my tanks and have had great
success using their micron cartridge full-time.  I swap a new cartridge
in about every two weeks.  Just soak the old one in a bleach solution
and you're ready to go.  For the samller Magnum Hang on Tank model, I
think I remember the price being reasonable.  TFP usually has a good
spread in their catalogs for Manngum (Marineland) produscts.
