I know this wasn't your question, but it sounds like you have too many
fish in your tank.  If it is a rectangular tank, than it should have no
more than 10-12 inches of fish (a hex tank has less surface area, and
holds maybe half that).  Even if all of them are juviniles, you probably
have more than that now, and some of those fish are going to get pretty
big.  Also, neons and danios do much better in schools of 6 or more.
