Re: Copper on wood?

B.J. Smith wrote about green spots on driftwood and questioned
whether this was copper. 
It seems extremely unlikely that wood would have any copper
wedged into it. Green spots are probably algae or if the wood has
been dry possibly some lichen. 
I think the petshop guy was being overly cautious. Scrape the
green spots off the wood, boil it and put it in your tank.
BTW oxidized copper has a distinctive turquiose (sp?) color to
it.
