Never kept it myself, but this might help. Baensch V.II says: KH 2-12; pH 5.5-7.2; temp.24-30C. Aquarium Fish by Schliewen says this about the same plant: CO2 20mg/L; 2-12 dCH; pH 6-7.5; temp. 22-28C Red color shows up only in bright light and with iron fertilizing. Good luck
