The advice is still good.  It just points out a frustrating point.  There
are more ways to grow plants than there are people...  There are also lots
of ways to kill them.  What the advice is trying to do is give some 
instructions on how to reproduce good results - its not saying that
it is the *only* way to grow nice plants.
