cheap plant tabs

Hi all,
I hope this isn't a re-post but anyway.. Just wondering if anyone has had
any success/failures with the cheap PlanTabbs sold in TFP for .99 cents or
so.  I believe they are made by a company called Aquarium Products.  I know
they must be loaded with nitrates/phosphates or other goodies, but if
they're buried deep enough in the substrate, will they be o.k. and even
worth while?  TIA !!
