To add to what has already been said about checking water coloration
by removing a sample and checking in a white container, I suggest you
also use a side by side identical container of tap water and look at
the difference in coloration. I can guarantee that anybody successfully
growing plants and fish has water with some degree of coloration but
if its not perceptible when you look at the tank, who cares?
