Using aluminium foil instead of painting is effective, but I went to a hydroponics shop and bought a reflective mylar film - around 95 % reflectance - that's much better, almost like a mirror. I got enough for two 3 foot hoods for about $6.00 australian. It's very thin and flexible, very easy to work with, and seems more effective than the aluminium foil it replaced. David Aiken
