Re: Strep in tank

Hi hobbyists

Another quick comment on bacteria in aquariums, specifically
Strep. The kind of Streptococci that infects the upper airway in
humans could not possibly survive in an aquarium and therfore
would not be the source of an infection. Why? Strep are
specifically adapted opportunistic pathogens, perhaps not warm
enough or salty enough or gooey enough in an aquarium environment
to support them. You could, however, get innoculated by a siphon
tube or something like that which would *temporarily* house some
bad bugs.
