Subject: WHAT IS THIS STUFF????
Hi. I have a question and i hope that someone out there has an answer for
me!! Today, i purchased a product at Wal-Mart called "Schultz-Instant All

      0.4% Nitrate Nitrogen
      16.4% Urea Nitrogen
Available Phosphate(P2O5)..........30%
Soluble Potash(K2O)...................20%
Total Iron(Fe)...............................0.10%
     0.10% Chetlated iron(Fe)
Total Manganese(Mn).................0.05%
     0.05% Chetlated Manganese(Mn)
Total Zinc(Zn).............................0.05%
     0.05% Chetlated Zinc(Zn)

In answer to your question as to the suitability of this for aquatic
plants, it is very unsuitable. You would be adding phosphates to your tank
which would greatly encourage algae growth. I would stick with a
fertilizer made specifically for AQUATIC plants. It's easy enough to come
by, and not very expensive, and you'll save yourself a lot of aggravation
battling algae. Just make sure it does not include phosphates. Most
reputable brands don't. I wouldn't try to experiment (especially with
terrestrial fertilizer) without a more thorough understanding of the
dynamics of a planted aquarium, otherwise you risk losing a lot of money
that you have probably invested in plants and fish, not to mention the time
and effort it would take to "fix" the imbalances you may cause.
