     I have a Philips 20 watt CF in a hanging pendant fixture over a 10 
     gal, and it works great.  It is amazingly bright.  These lights screw 
     into an incandescent fixture, but they have a pretty big 
     diameter--much larger than the "slim" aquarium bulbs, and I doubt they 
     would fit in an aquarium hood.
