I dunno if it is of value (I think so) but you don't have to buy it. 
Just cut water changes and don't vacuum your gravel.  That is the
major accumlant in my tank.  After several months, I can do a 99%
water change over a week and still have very low pH.  That is from
all the humic acid bound to the mulm.   Dave
