Re: Lilly Miller Vitamin B1 Plant Starter

I saw an improvement in my aquatic plant using a product brand named Vita B
(greatly diluted). In a prior post I listed the ingredients and received much
good feedback. There seems to have been no negative impact when I used small
doses (2-5ml) with my regular water changes. Today I bought the product
listed in the subject header from Wal-Mart (where I buy FAMA and AFM). I'd
like to hear relevant discussions about cautions or potentil merits using
this product. BTW it was pretty inexpensive, $1.67 for 1 Qt U.S. Here is the
analysis and ingredients listed on the bottle.

GUARANTEED ANALYSIS:
Boron(B) ........................................ 0.02%
Iron(Fe) ........................................ 0.125%
  0.125% Chelated Iron
Manganese (Mn) ........................... 0.125%
  0.125% Chelated Manganese
Zinc(Zn) ....................................... 0.125%
  0.125% Chelated Zinc

Derived from Boric Acid, Sodium Ferric Enthylenediamine Tetraacetate,
Disodium Manganeous Ethylenediamine Tetraacetate Dihydrate, and Disodium Zinc
Ethylenediamine Tetraacetate Dihydrate.

Also containes non plant food ingredient:
0.01% Vitamin B1 (Thiamine Dydrochloride)

My idea is to do as before. Dilute the bottled product by 50% with RO water
in a small bottle and add 2-5ML with each water change (3 - 9 gallons ). What
do the experts think? Is my dosage high or low?

Tank specs:

right away busy exploring the driftwood as I right this. Boy is he/she/it?
neat!)

To many plants to mention, including Hygrophila (guianensis?), Cabomba,
Vesicularia dubyana, Echinondrus sp?, Bacopa sp?, Sagitaria, Lilaeopsis
sp?(micro sword), Valisnaria, Microsorium Pteropus

10-30% water changes 2-3 times a week

Tanks been up for 3 months.

Despite the high load I've seen the neons lay eggs. And the plants are
growing like crazy.

Forgive the long post. I'd like to extend my sincere apprectiation for all
who make this digest available. It has been one of my favorite reading
sources for a couple of months and owe a debt of gratitude to all who've
added to my appreciation of this fun hobby.
