Organic buffer, DIC & MES

This pertains to the organic buffer thread. Dr. Dave recommended staying with
DIC as the buffer. I need help with the following questions:

1. What does DIC stand for?
2. What is the pKa of DIC?
3. What pH would DIC maintain in the tank?

The following is in response to the MES question. MES is
2-[N-Morpholino]ethane-sulfonic acid. It is one of the buffers used in tissue
culture.
