I recently discovered a place called
Surplus Center (PO Box 82209, Lincoln, NE 68501-2209
800 488-3407). They have all kinds of hydraulic, mechanical and electric
doo-dads.
There is an interesting selection of air and fluid handling devices (solenoid
valves, regulators, pumps, etc.). One thing that caught my eye was a
half-inch ball valve (brass w/ stainless ball and teflon seat) for $5.99. I
bought a vacuum pump from them, for my veneer press (oops... wrong hobby).
