I found when moving around the county that there were a lot of "side of the 
 road" places that sold locally harvested quartz or rock.  Along with a lot 
 worthless junk.
 
Picked up some nice pieces that really added to the tanks look, especially  
the rose quartz.  It usually required a little TLC occasionally to remove a 
 little algae but if used judiciously it really added to the visual appeal. 
 
 
The western states have some interesting rock also that make for great  
aquascaping!
