[APD] Potassium deficiency

Hi all... I have a question that may seem foolish but I was wondering if anyone had tried using a piece of a potassium vitamin in their tank as a source of extra nutrient? I saw Potassium vitamins at Safeway the other day so read the ingredients. .5 % Potassium glutonate was all it had other than fillers so ?? 
I am currently using Florish w\ Iron and Florish Trace with DIY CO2. Plants are pearling nicely but Sword has yellowing leaves.
