Also, if you want LED illumination that covers lots of parts of the spectrum, you need lots of diff LEDs; each has a very narrow bandwidth. In the case of the whites, very narrow spikes in several colors., much more so than fluorescents or MHs.

I don't know of any full-spectrum LEDs. They are not nearly as efficient 
as good fluorescent lights or metal halide though. In other words, you 
get more grow for your buck with fluorescent or HID than LED.
