I just squeeze and agitate it a little, to loosen the debris. The regular
aquarium HOB filter removes it.

looks great and its got pretty big but now its also accumulating allot
of debris. Can anyone recommend any way to clean java moss that's
growing on bog wood that will cause the minimum amount of damage to the
moss? Attempting to move the moss currently releases allot of debris
into the tank and really clouds the water.

If you have a gravel vac with a large intake, like the one on a Python,
start the siphon, hold the intake near the moss and agitate the moss gently.
The dislodged detritus will be drawn into the siphon with no harm to the moss.

I've modified a small canister filter with sime toy vacuum cleaner end and vacuum almost amything out of my aquariums. I just put a long tube on the intake and just a "u" shape on the outflow. It works really neat! (showing 4 years of college english ;-)).

I found flourite and great prices on the tanks I did not bring with
me on my move to LA at Pasadena Tropical Fish--quite a lovely fish
store. Now I need a place to swap out my empty CO2 tanks for full
ones. Any recommendations for the LA area?

LA is pretty big.

I recall a couple of large stores near Sherman Way and Reseda Blvd. in
the San Fernando Valley. Take the 101 north and exit at Reseda.

I haven't been in the area for a while, but I recall two or three shops
bunched together in that area. A lot of plants to choose from. All the
stores took a hard hit during the Northridge earth quake.

Happy Hunting.

Airgas in Duarte or El Monte will fill your own bottle for you.
