I don't think so. Too much light goes the wrong way. These are trying
to emulate round lightbulbs and throw light radially notlinearly.

About the only thing they're good for is old hoods that have screw-in
incandescent fixtures. These give them a new lease on life but only
in a tank that will never be anything more than "low light".
