I noticed a three inch horizontal scratch in an exterior side of an
aquarium. It was deep enough to be felt with a fingernail.  A friend
suggested regular toothpaste (non-gel) might make it less obvious.

I spread toothpaste over the scratch and removed the excess with a razor
blade.  To my surprise, the scratch was no longer visible!
