Daniel, I personally would not trust using rubber bands due to the chemicals that might pollute the tank. I used the finest fishing lineI could find. I think typical cotton thread might rot away before the moss has a chance to adhere to the bog wood. Also if you find a finefishing line you cant see it under water.Here's a great link that shows you step by step.
