Good question. :-)

I'd say increase.
Though they remove minerals and chemicals from the water which make the 
water conductive.

They also store these extracted items in their stem, roots and leaves.

Their external surface is carbon which is conductive and this gets bigger as 
they grow.

They also promote the growth of other lifeforms on their surfaces.
