Thank you for the quick, albeit succinct, answer.

For educational purposes, could someone elaborate on the situation.  It
is nice to have an answer to a question, but nicer still to be able to
provide someone else with an informed response when asked.  Does anyone
have empirical data showing at what levels phosphates do indeed become a
buffer and skew the standard equation of 

			[HCO3-]
pH = 6.37 + log	------- 
			[CO2]
