I wouldn't guess that the majority of people think that MHs look better. While the shimmer effect of point source, nondiffuse lighting is eye catching, it's harder to spread the light out over a rectangular tank and many find the "overspray" from pendant style MHs annoying. You get more shadows with point source lighting too, which can affect your aquascaping palns.
 
There's also bulb prices, and sprectrum shifts and handling locally intense temperatures to consider.

Only convention registrants can sign up for the the Field Trip to the Monterrey Bay Aquarium. About 20 slots remain and then the the Field Trip will be fully subscribed and we cannot add any more.

...Is there any advantage of compact fluorescent's over MH? 
Doesn't the majority of people think that Metal Halides have a better  look?
