Re: [APD] plant sterilization via listerine

Something acid or something base will rid your plants of most obnoxious hitchikers. Lime-it, for example. A short dip in the farther reaches of pH . . .

November too cold? Too hot? How would you like to spend part of it in San Francisco? Cable cars, Lombard St., Chinatown -- and a simply huge aquatic plant auction.

The 2006 Aquatic Gardeners Association Convention will be November 10-12 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel -- San Francisco International Airport.

Details will be posted soon at http://www.aquatic-gardeners.org/

I cant believe Scott didn't rise to the bait on this one.

Are we concerned that the other plants won't like the new ones because they
have bad breath?

On a serious note, i get a number of plants that were very recently in the
Far East and have been putting them in a bucket of tapwater to allow any
"critters" to leave the plants looking for food or whatever. Found a couple of
leeches one time and started being a little more careful. Rinse them before
they go into the tank. Haven't had any problems but am i courting danger?

Just how much effort is really needed to avoid most problems?
