I'm surprised that anyone would send insulting emails to anyone here.  
I think we are all here just to learn and to share experiences and 
knowledge with others.  So, I, too would appreciate it if anyone 
sending such insulting emails would stop.

Back to your question:  If you read the Krib references Tom attached to 
his recent post it would be a lot clearer what the problems are in 
adding a strong acid to adjust KH.  At least it was a lot clearer to me 
- it is not a simple way to do it, nor is it quicker, and it is 
potentially very dangerous, so why try it?  (That is my summary!)
