Re: [APD] Aquatic-Plants Digest, Vol 27, Issue 35
Rory
I had MTS in an aquarium that I didn't want anymore. I bought 4 Yoyo loaches
B. lohachata, 3 Clown loaches, and 4 shunk loaches. They were in a 38 gallon
tank. It took almost 1 year before all of the MTS were gone, but they were.
I removed the loaches for a few months and not a snail returned. I currently
have a 37 at work with Golden ocellatus spawning. I have red ramshorn in
there that came in on the plants. I put the Yoyo loaches in there at first
to contain them, and they did. But they also were suspected of eating the
fry of the Golden ocellatus. I removed the loaches and put up with the
snails. I crush them and feed them to the ocellatus. They love them. I am
not happy with the snails though. One of these days I am going to add
loaches back to clean them up. But not until I raise some babies.
