Re: [APD] Immutable laws of physics?

I was always fascinated by this aspect of physics. I remember when at least in school were i was they started talking a little bit about quantum physics and how it had totally made the world of physics over. and my professor at the time said something like, "the thing about physics is that every so often comes along a law. and it's the big new law, and people say this is it, and then boom. something comes along that totally changes and often disproves what we thought was impossible, and we're forced to go... well then..." and it just seems to keep going on and on. and that aspect of it just had me hooked, sometimes I wish i had stayed on that track.

Subject: [APD] Immutable laws of physics?

String Theory, which started out as an attempt to reconcile the
inconsistencies between Relativity and Quantum Mechanics, has now become the
most exciting new way of looking at the natural world.

Among other things, it suggests that there might be 11 dimensions, compared
to Einstein's 4, and that there might be zillions of invisible universes in
which the laws of physics are radically different. So we can't be too sure
that the apple will always fall, everywhere.

What do I think about it? LOL. I can't even identify all of the kinds of
algae in my tanks.
