HVLP. I just got a cheapo touch-up gun from Harbor Freight for $19. It 
wasn't advertised as an HVLP, but it operates as low as 10 psi. I had 
never used a "real" spray gun so I had to learn the technique as I went. 
Coming up with the technique for the speckles was a little more 
difficult. I ended up thinning the paint way down, turning the regulator 
down to 10 psi, turning the spray gun full blast, and repeatedly hitting 
the trigger (like trying to fire a semi-auto really fast). I had to hit 
the trigger really hard to make the gun splatter. I ended up with 
splatter dots that range from about 0.25mm to 1mm. Looks good.
