Scott, most of us have teflon tape in our toolbox (from replacing 
showerheads, etc)
why couldn't he wrap the washer he has (bending the tape around it on 
the outside
a couple of revolutions) to where it's "teflon coated." Would this work 
as a stopgap
till he gets the teflon washers? Maybe it wouldn't hold up very well, 
and it might not
fit after he does this....
