i can see the general idea, although i never spend more than 15 minutes on it. and there are other options. and for where i am the initial cost should be 170-220

Here is the bottom line of the DIY vs. compressed gas CO2 (CGCO2) business:

CGCO2 costs about $1 per pound
DIY costs $4 and up

CGCO2 equipment costs $70-170 to start
DIY costs $2-10, maybe a bit more if you buy a commercial kit.

CGCO2 takes maybe 4 hours every five years once you get it going
DIY takes maybe 1-2 hours per week

You pay your money and you take your choice....
