I had a 120 gallon tank with both clown loaches and Amano shrimp in it. 
 As best I could tell, they were compatible, and all of the snails were 
gone in a few weeks.  My experience was that putting plants in the tank 
just about guarantees putting snails there too.  I suppose there are 
effective ways to kill the snail eggs before planting the plants, but I 
never tried any.  I preferred to look at it as providing the loaches 
with a treat.
