Re: [APD] Aragonite for KH Rising

Hi Terry:

I didn?t try bicarbonate, but Na seems to be an issue. I am currently using CaCO3, added to an auxiliary barrel where I place new water to stabilize it some days before I make the water change.

Some guys use crushed shells, like a tea spoon or so, into the canister filter for 50G. They refill it every month. But I was told that these shells may contain silicates. Crushed shells are inexpensive here, albeit aragonite

So I am still looking for the best option.

Hi Mariano,

I have not had this problem...but that is interesing. I will keep my eyes
open for problems. Do you use an alternate to the bicarbonate? Is the
sodium the problem?
