Re: [APD] Re:green water inside in the winter

Hi Carol,

I don't know what kind of phytoplankton daphnia eats, but my daphnia magna just swim through the green water (I suspect it's nanochloropsus that I am culturing for my saltwater rotifers) in their tank and they don't seem to consume any of it. They fail to produce in the green water, but they multiply well with powered food called Roti-Rich. I used to culture euglena for daphnia magna and moina, but again daphnia magna did not do well with them. I'd like to know what type green water/phytoplankton I should grow for my daphnia magna.

I forgot to mention that I would like to have a tank of green water inside
for the winter as well, for daphnia and for fry food. What lighting should I
use? How long should I illuminate it and does it need aeration?
