[APD] Trimming Saggitaria

Hey folks :)

i know saggitaria subulata is a pretty hardy plant, but does anyone
have expierenc ein how well it stands to being trimmed back. A friend
as a stand in one of his tanks that the top 1/3 is fairly infested with
Black brush algae and was wondering if he could take half (or a lil
more) off without really harming the plants. I've never trimmed it
this way, and would hate to misinform him and have him kill off his
plants.

Thoughts, ideas, suggestions all very welcome.

Thanks a bunch!

PS- just to save some list space and typing time i only need to know
if the plant will sustain itself with a mowing type prune. No need to
go into other algae removing methods :P
