Sometimes in winter my tap water is gassier than other
times -- had an aunt like that once. The gassy water makes
for bubbles, even if put into a container with no plants,
but container or planted aquarium, it doesn't spur enough
bubbles to move the pH meter. so I guess you're both right
;-)
