[APD] CO2 Absorption

I have read that the equilibrium level of CO2 in an aquarium under normal
conditions is about .5 ppm. To me that means that in an open aquarium with
no flora, fauna, lighting, or substrate, the CO2 level would be that.
Right?

I've also read that the CO2 level in the "typical" planted aquarium without
CO2 injection is between 2 and 4 ppm.
The difference would be the CO2 produced by the organisms in the aquarium.
Right?

Thanks.

Bill
