[APD] calcium ???

After getting a somewhat sucessfull planted aquarium (for 2 years), I started getting problems...

I try everything, introducing KNO3 and PO4 and promoted good levels of no3 and po4, good traces (also with magnesium), and the problems continued...

My GH was about 5, some months ago, now 4.
hum...
I guess If the only thing I don't put is calcium, why not, calcium deficiancy???

My plants showed calcium deficiency sintoms, then I gained courage, and dump 1 kilogram of beach sand...well distributed on my entire aquarium.
:)

Now I am decreasing my KNO3 and PO4 introdutions, I guess lot of this macronutrientes would increase the likeliwood of other nutrients problems...

what you think about my guess work?
It's strange getting calcium problems with 4 GH...

With this procedures I believe my plants can "drink" from the "soil" all the calcium they need...

I think I once had calcium in the substrate, but with my relative acidic water, that got into the water, and got away from the substrate...

Regards!
