As Scott said, Ich is one of the easiest things to cure.  If the fish are in 
good condition they will take often take care of it themselves without much 
intervention.  I suspect that often we have infected fish in our tanks don't 
know it.

Maybe it's like a heavy cold.  If we spend $100 on doctors and drugs it will 
go away in about seven days.   If instead we get plenty of rest and take 
fluids it will last for about a week.  Sic semper Ichthyopthirius.
