[APD] Re: AGA Convention
The Baltimore-Washington areas are so large and intertwined that moving the conference from Baltimore to DC was about the same as moving it across town. Not quite that simple, but you get the idea.
As I understand (unless something has changed) the DC subway connects one of the airports to the hotel's bottom floor. So you can get off your plane, ride the subway to the hotel, and then back to the Smithsonian without going outside. No car rental or taxi for this conference. Very convenient. The DC subway is very nice, clean, and easy to figure out.
You can bring the kids to this one and everyone have a great time.

Re the AGA 2004 Convention:
First you hear Baltimore and then Virginia. There has been
a little bit of confusion about Takashi Amano's upcoming
visit return to America. Although the venue of the 2004 AGA
Convention originally was to be Baltimore, final details re
the hotel prices and room availability made another
location more suitable, namely the Marriott Hotel in the
Crystal City section of Arlington, Virginia -- just a
stone's throw (or a dollar coin according to myth) across
the river from Washington, D.C.
